Keira Kahlon is a sophomore student at Southpointe Academy with a deep passion for creating rehabilitation technology and fast-paced debate. An award winning science fair student and avid exercise enthusiast she frequently can be seen redesigning assistive technology such as prosthetics in order to improve healthcare access worldwide. Currently, she is engineering an adaptable prosthesis informed by biomedical gait analysis aimed to extend the usability of such devices for underprivileged youth. Through this work she demonstrates a drive for confronting healthcare barriers while advocating for healthcare access in her local community.
Beyond academics, Keira can be seen “dancing with a soccer ball” throughout the lower mainland as a divisional player and hiking Vancouver’s famed trails such as the Grouse Grind. As she continues building her identity, Keira desires to promote healthcare equality through her time to serve the healthcare community.
