Founder and Co-President - Jonathan Weng

Jonathan Weng is a high school student certified as an Emergency Medical Technician in the United States (NREMT Registry No.: E4082697) and a licensed Emergency Medical Responder in British Columbia, Canada (EMR License ID: 156731). He is an aspiring dental student, with a strong and growing passion for dentistry and oral health, and he will be entering the field of dentistry in the coming year. He continues to explore these interests through research and writing on healthcare-related topics.

As the founder and president of the Youth Advocates for Global Health Association (YAGHA), Jonathan works to promote better access to healthcare and greater health equity. Since the age of 15, he has taken part in annual medical outreach trips to Kenya and has also volunteered in Peru and Canada, including with St. John Ambulance Division 1307 in Vancouver. These experiences have given him hands-on exposure to patient care and frontline healthcare environments.

Outside of medicine, he is actively involved in the Music Bridge Foundation Canada, where he uses his piano background and skills to help organize charity concerts that raise funds for healthcare and community programs.

He has also trained in Taekwondo for over ten years and holds a competitive black belt, which has helped him build discipline, focus, and resilience. As he enters the next stage of his journey in dentistry, Jonathan is committed to using his training and experience to serve underserved communities and improve access to quality oral healthcare.
